About Me
Angel Ye is a New York-based illustrator, multidisciplinary artist, and creative director of Starlite Artist Collective, originally from Vancouver, Canada. She is currently studying at the School of Visual Arts for Illustration, pursuing visual storytelling in creation and mythos tales. She has exhibited in SenseScape Microsoft Garage, NYC Resistor Interactive Arts Show, Latitude Gallery: Anchored, SVA Gramercy Gallery: Daybreak in 2024, Starlite Collective, Static Arts Collective, Pratt International Student Week.
Her interests are in fine arts, interactive installations, children's books, and graphic novels. Childhood hope is a thematic foundation that intertwines with the refraction of the Asian Diaspora throughout America, making art to pave a new generational path. Providing an inquiry into their deepest selves, Angel creates a call for action to question our inner worlds through the lens of a naive view.

Drawn to mediums such as gouache and oils, I create a world of my own filled with fantastical beasts and the dreams of a child through illustrations. My illustrations and paintings play with how light elevates the atmosphere of a piece, creating a metaphysical atmosphere, an in-between reality, and imagination. Whimsical and full of extraterritorial life-- soft sculptures breathe their life when I create immersive and interactive spaces. With a passion for installation, soft sculpture and audio visual installation, my projects provide a sense of comfort and reflection within the viewers, while beckoning them to join. Through my work, I transport my audience to another space, one full of mystery, magic and realization; one step away from everyday life.
